About the Practice
Do you accept insurance?
Bren OB/GYN is an out-of-network practice. This allows us to provide longer visits, direct physician access, and highly personalized care. Laboratory testing, imaging, hospital services, and medications are billed through your insurance whenever possible.
How is payment handled?
Transparency is important to us. Bren OB/GYN operates on a fee-for-service model, meaning our pricing is straightforward and not determined by insurance companies. Professional service fees are listed on our Services page. Payment is due at the time of your visit, and patients are asked to keep a credit card securely on file for ongoing care. If you have out-of-network benefits, we are happy to provide the documentation needed for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new obstetric and gynecologic patients, including those seeking a more personalized care experience.
How do I join the waitlist?

Pregnancy & Delivery
Where do you deliver babies?
Dr. Bren delivers exclusively at Sibley Memorial Hospital, allowing for exceptional continuity and close collaboration with the labor and delivery team.
Will Dr. Bren deliver my baby?
Dr. Bren personally attends the vast majority of her patients' deliveries. While no physician can guarantee attendance in every circumstance, the practice is intentionally designed to maximize continuity. In the event Dr. Bren cannot attend your delivery, you will be cared for by a trusted OB/GYN colleague.
Can I transfer my pregnancy?
Yes. We welcome pregnancy transfers at any stage when medically appropriate. We require that you submit medical records for Dr. Bren's review prior to scheduling your transfer OB appointment.
Do you care for high-risk pregnancies?
Yes. Many high-risk pregnancies continue their routine prenatal care with Dr. Bren while also being co-managed by Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists. We work closely with the MFM team at Sibley Memorial Hospital for seamless, coordinated care.
Do you manage IVF and twin pregnancies?
Yes. Dr. Bren has extensive experience caring for pregnancies conceived through IVF and pregnancies requiring additional monitoring, in collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine when appropriate.
Can I schedule a consultation first?
Absolutely. Choosing an OB/GYN is an important decision. Feel free to schedule a consultation with Dr. Bren prior to committing to the comprehensive OB Program.
What happens if I go into labor when Dr. Bren is unavailable?
In the rare event Dr. Bren is unavailable due to another delivery or unforeseen emergency, a trusted physician colleague will provide your care while maintaining communication whenever possible.
Gynecology
What gynecology services do you offer?
We provide comprehensive preventive and gynecologic care including annual exams, contraception, fertility consultations, menopause care, office procedures, abnormal bleeding evaluation, PCOS, fibroids, and second opinions.
What if I need surgery?
Dr. Bren performs many office procedures and manages a wide range of gynecologic conditions. If advanced surgery is needed, she will coordinate your care with trusted surgical specialists while remaining your primary gynecologist throughout your care.
Will I still see you if I'm referred to a specialist?
Absolutely. Whether you need Maternal-Fetal Medicine, gynecologic surgery, breast imaging, or pelvic floor therapy, Dr. Bren remains your primary OB/GYN and coordinates your care every step of the way.
Your Experience
How long are appointments?
Appointments are intentionally longer than traditional practices, allowing time for thoughtful conversations, education, and individualized care.
How do I communicate with Dr. Bren?
Our secure electronic medical record allows HIPAA-compliant messaging directly with Dr. Bren and her small on-site team. Non-urgent messages are answered during regular business hours. Obstetric patients have direct access to Dr. Bren 24/7 for urgent pregnancy concerns.
Do you offer telemedicine?
Yes. Many follow-up visits and consultations can be completed securely through telemedicine when medically appropriate.
Do you perform ultrasounds in the office?
We offer both obstetric and basic gynecologic ultrasound in the office. Routine bedside ultrasounds are performed throughout pregnancy, and most gynecologic ultrasounds can be completed the same day as your appointment when clinically appropriate. Specialized imaging is coordinated with Maternal-Fetal Medicine or trusted radiology partners.
Do you offer postpartum home visits?
Yes. If desired, our Clinical RN, Lisa, provides a postpartum home visit within the first two weeks after delivery to support your recovery, breastfeeding, your newborn's transition, and answer questions during those important first days at home. Additional fees apply.
