About Dr. Bren
Born and raised in Washington, DC, Dr. Kathleen Bren is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist dedicated to providing thoughtful, relationship-centered care for women throughout every stage of life.
Known for her calm presence, clinical expertise, and approachable style, Dr. Bren has built lasting relationships with women across the Washington community. She believes that the best medical care begins with listening and that trust is built through time, communication, and continuity.
After earning her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Dr. Bren pursued research and service opportunities before returning home to earn her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology through MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Today, Dr. Bren cares for women throughout every stage of life, with particular expertise in pregnancy, preventive women's health, fertility counseling, contraception, menopause, and complex gynecologic concerns. She believes in thoughtful, evidence-based medicine and helping patients make informed decisions through education, partnership, and trust.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bren is proud to be raising her own family in the city she has always called home. She feels privileged to care for the women and families of the Washington community and is honored to deliver babies and perform gynecologic surgery exclusively at Sibley Memorial Hospital.
