A Letter From Dr. Bren.

If you're reading this, you may be searching for an obstetrician or gynecologist. Maybe you're preparing to grow your family, navigating a new stage of life, or simply looking for a physician who feels like the right fit. Whatever brought you here, I'm honored you've found us.

BREN OB/GYN was built around a simple belief: the best medicine begins with a relationship.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of caring for thousands of women across Washington. It has been the greatest honor of my professional life. But over time, I found myself wanting to practice medicine differently.

Healthcare has changed. Appointments have become shorter. Physicians are asked to care for more patients in less time. Too often, both patients and doctors leave feeling that something important is missing.

I believe what's missing is the relationship.

The conversations that aren't rushed.
The trust that's built over years, not minutes.
The comfort of knowing your physician truly knows your story.

I created BREN OB/GYN to make space for those relationships again.

As a physician, and as someone who has personally experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, and IVF, I understand how deeply personal women's healthcare can be. Some visits are joyful. Others are heartbreaking. Every one deserves time, honesty, compassion, and thoughtful guidance.

Washington has always been home to me. I grew up here, trained here, built my career here, and now I'm raising my own family here. Caring for the women of this community is more than my profession; it is my way of giving back to the city that has given me so much.

Whether you are seeing me for your annual exam, navigating fertility, welcoming your first baby, or entering menopause, my promise is the same: you will be cared for with respect, evidence-based medicine, and a genuine commitment to knowing you, not just your medical history, but your goals, your concerns, and the life you're building.

Thank you for considering BREN OB/GYN.
I look forward to meeting you.

With warm regards,

Kathleen Bren MD, FACOG

A different standard

Medicine practiced with intention

Modern care often favors efficiency over relationships. BREN was built for time, honesty, and a physician who stays present.

Conventional care

The usual experience

  • 15-minute appointments, often running late
  • A different provider at many visits
  • Long waits in shared lobbies
  • Portal messages answered days later

The Bren standard

A different approach to women's healthcare

  • 30 to 60 minute visits
  • Same physician for continuity of care
  • Low-volume office with short wait times
  • Fee-for-service with superbill for reimbursement
